A Day of Monasteries & Genealogies

Weekenders will be divided into two small groups to enhance the personalised experience of the day’s elements. Timings for the first group:

11am–1pm Your Islander boat trip and tour of the iconic Devenish Monastic site with its distinctive Round Tower. From the 6th century onwards, the Island became a place of great religious and spiritual importance as well as a burial place for members of the Maguire family.
1pm Sandwich lunch

1:45-3pm ‘Researching Your Maguire Ancestry’ talk and advice from genealogists Frankie Roofe and Frank McHugh

Timings for the second group:

11-12:15am ‘Researching Your Maguire Ancestry’ talk and advice from genealogists Frankie Roofe and Frank McHugh

12:15pm Sandwich lunch

1-3pm Your Islander Pass boat trip and tour of the iconic Devenish Monastic site with its distinctive Round Tower. From the 6th century onwards, the Island became a place of great religious and spiritual importance as well as a burial place for members of the Maguire family.

There will be an opportunity throughout the day to purchase Maguire related publications and merchandise.
Programme costs below include all tour guides and experts for the Weekend plus listed lunches and refreshments as well the coach on Friday and the water taxi on Sunday.
