Lough Erne Landscape Partnership invite you to join us on Monday 5th July 2021 at 7.30pm for the virtual launch of the study of vernacular buildings project.

Fermanagh lady, Cathy McGovern, will be taking us through the delights and tribulations of restoring her 200-year-old cottage at Derrylin, Co.Fermanagh.  Cathy is an interior designer and is bringing the past into the present by restoring her granny’s home, where Cathy, her husband, and young family now live.

Barry O’Reilly, guest speaker, is a renowned expert on Irish Vernacular buildings and will be showing many examples of vernacular buildings and how to identify vernacular.

Dr Colm Donnelly and Dr Rachel Tracey from Queens University Belfast, will be showcasing our FREE four-week online learning course, where you can learn more about vernacular buildings around the world, and here in Fermanagh, as well as our two week field school, on how to record and read the buildings around you!

Please do join us and register by emailing Elaine.reid@qub.ac.uk. For further information about the Legacy of Landscapes Project click here.
