Professional Breeding Wader Monitoring
As part of the overall Lough Erne Landscape Partnership (LELP) heritage initiative, Lough Erne Wildfowlers’ Council (LEWC) have secured funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to continue and expand their existing breeding wader project on Boa Island, working with local landowners to restore and maintain suitable habitat for a number of wading bird species, which have been in decline as breeding species in the area in recent decades.
LEWC wish to commission professional ornithological surveying to monitor breeding wader populations at sites in Boa Island, providing scientifically robust data to help us to deliver our breeding wader conservation project.
