Fermanagh and Omagh District Council (on behalf of Lisnarick Community Development Association) in partnership with Lough Erne Landscape Partnership and Sport NI are planning to build a walkway that will link the village of Lisnarick with Castle Archdale Country Park. The route will enable users to travel between Lisnarick village to Castle Archdale Country Park on a linear route, but a shorter looped route will also be available to those who just want to enjoy a walk in the beautiful countryside.
This project is planned to be delivered during 2020.
Once constructed the village association will host several built and natural heritage events to attract users from around the region and engage tourists and park visitors.

Great to see significant progress being made with the new path that will link Lisnarick Village with Castle Archdale Country Park.
Members of the Lisnarick Community Development Association were invited to review the progress with the path and provide feedback on placements for the furniture along the route.
More work to do and the path is not yet open, but looking forward to opening the path in early 2022.
We were delighted to host representatives from our funders The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF), to Fermanagh to visit some of our ongoing projects.
Lisnarick – Pathway to our Lough
The projects LELP will deliver all have different aims and objectives, however a key theme is to provide access to the Lough for local communities. Lisnarick is a small village close to the Lough and on the edge of the Castle Archdale Country Park. Currently there is no direct path from the village to the Park or Lough this project will enable this local community and visitors to access both the Park and the Lough directly and more safely.
This project aims to create an entirely new access route to the shores of the Lough through the development of a new footpath on Forestry Service land along with the upgrading of an existing path. Giving the villagers much needed pedestrian access to the Lough on the one hand, and tourists in the Castle Archdale complex access to the village on the other, this project will create an exciting prospect for both communities and will lead to improved economic and social sustainability for the area.
Join us tomorrow 2pm and have a go in a traditional cot hand built by 2 local community groups. The project was initiated by the late Fred Ternan & tomorrow we will launch the cots in his memory. @HeritageFundNI @fermanaghomagh https://lelp.org.uk/events/traditional-cot-launch-in-memory-of-the-late-fred-ternan/
