Request for Quotation: RSPB Management of Mature Trees and Scrub on Lower Lough Erne Islands

Terms of Reference for management of mature trees and scrub on Hare, Lusty More, Muckinish and Rosscor, Lower Lough Erne Islands RSPB Reserve by cutting, stacking, burning, removing debris on approximately 2.22 hectares.

The RSPB in Northern Ireland intends to improve the habitat on Islands Hare, Lusty More, Muckinish and Rosscor on Lower Lough Erne Islands Reserve to make them more attractive for breeding wading birds, particularly curlew.  The habitat improvement will take the form of cutting and removing scrub and mature trees including ash, alder, willow, blackthorn, hawthorn and bramble and subsequent treatment of stumps.

This habitat management work is part of the larger Lough Erne Landscape Partnership Project (LELP) where RSPBNI is working in partnership with numerous natural and built heritage organisations and community groups to improve conditions for wading birds, improve protection of historic sites and provide access to the countryside.  LELP is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

RSPB NI is now seeking tenders from interested contractors as part of a full tender process to complete habitat management works on Hare, Lusty More, Muckinish and Rosscor Islands Lower Lough Erne.
