We are delighted to invite you to the Lough Erne Landscape Partnership and the Lough Erne Wildfowlers Council for a Snipe Walk at Dusk. This event is your opportunity to gain an understanding of the work of the LEWC on Boa Island whilst listening to the drumming of snipe.
Join us for a unique event on Boa Island – a Snipe walk at dusk! Formerly a much more common breeding bird in the Fermanagh countryside, Snipe have declined massively in recent decades and now only inhabit a fraction of their former range locally.
You will have the opportunity to learn about the Boa Island Breeding Wader Project, being carried out by the Lough Erne Wildfowlers Council and supported by the Lough Erne Landscape Partnership. Join Michael to hear about the work that they are carrying out to protect and enhance the population of breeding waders such as Curlew and Snipe in the region and best of all, experience the sounds of Snipe drumming as darkness falls.
