Fermanagh and Omagh District Council are currently seeking Quotations for LOUGH ERNE PILGRIMAGE TRAIL NON-INTRUSIVE ARCHAEOLOGICAL SURVEYS – 2223 RFQ EP 036

“Lough Erne Pilgrimage Trail is a project with funders/stakeholders including National Lottery Heritage Fund, Lough Erne Landscape Partnership / RSPBNI, Fermanagh & Omagh District Council (FODC), Department for Communities Historic Environment Division (HED) & Waterways Ireland.

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council invite Quotations for Non-Intrusive Archaeological Survey works as part of the Lough Erne Pilgrimage Trail project.

The Lough Erne Pilgrimage Trail project working group has selected White Island North to have Non-Intrusive archaeological survey work.

White Island (North) on Lough Erne has HED protection with a scheduled zone and an area around the church ruins under State Care. Davy’s Island has HED protection with a scheduled zone.

Fermanagh & Omagh District Council own White Island North and it is currently leased to RSPB(NI). A request has been made to RSPBNI to mow the rushes.

DAERA NI Forest Service own Davy’s Island but FODC have responsibility for this and other ancient graveyards under the Irish Church Act 1869.

HED are involved in the Non-Intrusive Survey work. We will provide their contact details to the successful supplier to assist with any permits required to fly drones etc
