Increasing public access to our natural and built heritage through the development of infrastructure such as paths, trails and jetties.
Project 11: Access Inniskillings
Access Inniskillings will digitise historical archives of the Inniskillings prior to the 19th century.
Project 6: Devenish Community Footpath / Wide Awake Way
This project will develop a 1.5km pathway along the River Erne and the Back Lough to connect existing pathways.
Project 5: Lisnarick Walkway to our Lough
The aim of this project is to connect the small rural village of Lisnarick to Castle Archdale Forest Park and provide access to the Lough.
Project 4: Accessing the Natural Heritage of Upper Lough Erne
Crom Estate is home to a wide variety of species and habitats and rich in cultural heritage. For this project this legacy will be built upon by reinstating 18th century historical walking grounds by opening 10.5km of paths to increase access for the public.
Project 3b: Lough Erne Schools Convention
The Lough Erne Schools Convention brings pupils from local primary schools together to celebrate Lough Erne. It is an annual one day event, delivered in partnership with the Share Discovery Village and utilising heritage organisations to deliver topic specific workshops.
Project 3a: Share Discovery Village Bird Hide and Trail
The aims of this project is to create greater access to the lough shore with the development of an accessible lough shore trail and the addition of a bird hide on the path.
Project 2: Paddling on the Lough
The Erne Paddlers are an established canoe club operating in Enniskillen, this project will increase access to the waters of Lough Erne for people of all abilities and ages.
Project 1: Erne Pilgrim Trail
The Lough Erne Spiritual Trail & Great Island Monasteries project focuses on the development of 11 key sites around Upper and Lower Lough Erne that will create a journey to celebrate the monastic & ecclesiastical history of this area.
