Wool Weaving Workshop – Apply now!

Written on . Posted in .

Lisbellaw Woollen Mill was once one of the main employers in Co. Fermanagh, with the skills of wool weaving prevalent in 19th & 20th century in the surrounding areas. Sadly due to the advancement of technology and the introduction of alternative fabrics, this once essential industry skill has become forgotten in time.

The Lough Erne Landscape Partnership has commissioned local Lisbellaw Wool Spinner, Elaine Blampeid to deliver an 8-week wool weaving workshop to 8 participants.

This course is due to start in October, however a date is yet to be set.

If you wish to register interest, please contact Hazel Long, Heritage Project Manager using hazel.long@rspb.org.uk by Monday 2nd October 2023. Places will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.

This workshop has been made possible with funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund
